- ROTP programme for NRHM doctors
A Re-Orientation program was held on 24th Nov 2011 for the NRHM (National Rural Health Mission) Doctors on respiratory diseases. It was a 1-day programme. The sessions were conducted by Dr.Sudha, Dr Sheeba, Dr Rema Devi, Dr Sadhana, Dr Zaheedunissa, Dr Gayathri.
- Spirometry workshop
A one day workshop was conducted by Dr Sundeep Salvi, Director, Chest Research Foundation on Spirometry. This was a review session and was attended by other homeopathic doctors from Bangalore apart from the doctors of COE.

Outcome: Treatment aspects of allergic and bronchial asthma were understood.
- Dr Sudha, Dr Sheeja and Dr Sheeba attended LIGA conference at New Delhi in December 2011. Dr Sudha presented a paper on Integrated medicine and Dr Sheeja presented paper on COPD.
- Topic: COPD
Workshop was conducted by Dr. Sundeep Salvi and Dr. Sneha Limaye from Chest Research Foundation on Spirometry and Obstructive Airway Disease. It was attended by nine homeopathic doctors from Soukya Foundation and other homeopathic doctors from Bangalore. The workshop was about Spirometry, Asthma and COPD. All the doctors got trained in Spirometry and its use in assessing lung function test.
- Topic: Allergic Bronchitis
Workshop on use of Homeopathic medicines in Allergic Bronchitis was conducted by Dr. Madan on 03/11/2009. Various medicines and their sources were discussed in detail. The workshop was attended by 9 homeopathic doctors of Soukya Foundation and also about ten doctors from Bangalore. Dr. Madan discussed in detail about the selection of a remedy in cases of allergic bronchitis and various presentation of the drugs in each case of allergic bronchitis.
- Topic: Clinical Research by Central Council for Research in Homeopathy
Workshop was conducted by Dr. Anil Khurana, Dr. Divya and Dr. Renu from Central Council for Research in Homeopathy. The topic of discussion was Clinical Research. They elaborated on the complete procedure of Research starting from preparing the protocol and selecting the topic. They discussed that the research can be survey based or with intervention. The workshop was attended by all the doctors of Soukya Foundation and also other homeopathic doctors from Bangalore.
- Topic: Different types of cough and remedies of cough
About 25 doctors from Bangalore attended including the doctors of COE. Different types of cough and their remedies were discussed. For e.g. exertional cough, psychological cough, singer’s cough and many more. The doctors shared their experience in treating various kinds of cough. Dr Marian from Bali was also present who gave her experience in treating cough using higher potencies Spirometry was discussed. The doctors were told that they can send their poor patients to COE for Spirometry and the test will be done free for them.
- Workshop and Training in Research Methodology
Workshop and Training on Research Methodology was conducted on February 9th, 2013 at Government Homeopathic Medical College, Bangalore. The workshop was supported by National Rural Health Mission, Department of AYUSH and conducted by SOUKYA Foundation. Dr Shanthakumari, Deputy Director Homeopathy, State Nodal officer, Department of AYUSH, was the Guest of Honour. Dr Issac Mathai, CMD & Medical Director, SOUKYA Group of Insitutions and Dr A L Patil, Principal, Government Homeopathic Medical College, Bangalore spoke on the occasion. Dr. Peter Fischer, Clinical Director, Royal London Homeopathic Hospital, London, UK, declared the Workshop open. Dr Peter Fisher, FRCP, Clinical Director, Royal London Homeopathic Hospital, London, UK, Recent trends in research in Homeopathy. Dr Peter Fisher talked about efficacy and effectiveness of research in homeopathy. He emphasized that this will lead to raise of scientific questions in homeopathy which is very necessary and also that research in homeopathy is to match the standards of conventional medicine. Dr Sundeep Salvi, MD, DNB, PhD (UK), FCCP (USA), Director, Chest Research Foundation, Pune talked about Overview of COPD and Research. Dr Salvi discussed about the causes of COPD. He told that COPD was the third leading cause of mortality in India and in the world. COPD leads to decline in quality of life of the deceased and that Homeopathy has a major role in improving the quality of life of the people. Dr Sneha Limaye, Head - Clinical Trials, Chest Research Foundation, Pune, talked about Respiratory research in homeopathy using modern medicine methods. Dr Sneha told that research was systemic enquiry into a subject in order to discover the outcome. She talked about why, when, where and how to use research in Homeopathy and also that research should not be to prove the point but to show the outcome. Dr Debadatta Nayak, Research Officer, Central Council for Research in Homeopathy Headquarters, New Delhi, spoke about Guidelines on planning a research
Project. Dr Nayak emphasized that research should be systematic, empirical and replicable and should contribute to increased the knowledge. He talked about protocol preparation, sample size, variables etc. Dr Gopinadhan S, Scientist 4, CRIH, Kottayam, talked about Research Work in Respiratory Medicine. Dr Gopinadhan talked about how to conduct respiratory related research and problems of clinical trials. He emphasized that individualistic approach is required in homeopathy and how to conduct research with this in mind.
