Focused work in this area covers the population of 5791 people belonging to Jadigenahalli Grama Panchayath namely Jadigenahalli, Kolathur, Haralur, KB Hosahalli, Govindapura, Vadigenahalli, Kurubaragollahalli in Hoskote Taluk, Bengaluru Rural.

A baseline Household Survey by the Community Health Division of Bangalore Baptist Hospital

A baseline household survey was done in the 7 villages of the Panchayath by the Community Health Division of Bangalore Baptist Hospital. Demographics, education, occupation, knowledge about organic farming, socio-economic status, dietary habits, harmful personal habits, physical activity levels, environmental sanitation, maternal and child health practices, accessibility of healthcare and health seeking behaviour, morbidity, geriatric problems, medications, awareness of AYUSH systems of medicines, and prevalent disease conditions were surveyed.

The major health issues within the rural population related to Geriatric issues, Diabetes mellitus, Hypertension, skin conditions, Asthma, Respiratory tract infections, Thyroid disease, Allergies etc. A minor population also had seizure, cancer and stroke.

The effectiveness of this programme was further studied by Prof. Dr. K.V. Raju, Dr. Manasi, Hemalatha B.R, Rashmi K.P, Poornima S of the Institute of Social and Economic Changes (ISEC) Bengaluru.
